This is PAUL VAN DYK’s new single on Mute. ‘The Other Side’ features vocals from Wayne Jackson, formerly lead singer of Oasis faves, The Dostoyevskys, and now also a fellow Berlin resident.

PAUL VAN DYK is one of the most revered artists of his generation. With a huge global fan base, he’s also one of the most well known electronic musicians in history. And he puts it to good use. He works practically 24 hours a day, whether it’s writing music, gigs, or his involvement with various political and social non-governmental organisations. http://www.paulvandyk.com/low/help.asp

‘The Other Side’ is already being hailed as ‘classic’ PvD, but although it carries his trademark signature, the track is a further progression from the song-writing and lyrical maturity he displayed on his last album, Reflections. With musical echoes of New Order, ‘The Other Side’ is an uplifting but melancholic song with rising strings and acoustic touches that accompany Wayne Jackson's distinctive vocal. It’s front of box for the world’s finest DJs, with PETE TONG giving the original mix a hammering every week on his Radio 1 show.

The remixes come from across the spectrum. UK label-mates DEEP DISH follow Paul’s recent remix of ‘Say Hello’ by returning the favour and giving ‘The Other Side’ a re-rub worthy of a place among their greatest works. Mark Spoon opts for a live drum feel with a hint of electro, and Martin Roth closes proceedings with a peak time Floorfiller for those harder dancefloors.
