Oakenfold mixes Creamfields CD
Over the last seven years "Creamfields" has gone on to become the biggest dance festival in the UK, attracting over 40,000 people each year – 'Creamfields 2004' mixed by PAUL OAKENFOLD is the sound to this festival.
New State Entertainment (home of labels Nebula, C2 and previous JVs with Gatecrasher, Godskitchen and ongoing Virgin/EMI collaborations) have joined forces with Cream for a series of Cream branded albums on their New State Music compilations label. The first project sees PAUL OAKENFOLD and Perfecto drafted aboard to launch with a high profile Creamfields mix album on double CD.
The album draws on Paul's unique sound, mixing progressive and tech house flavours with cool melodic trance and breaks and is a significant part of the reunited story of Paul and Cream, which sees Paul embarking on a global tour headlining Creamfields events all over the world.
The album is also a journey through Paul's staggering record box and is a slice of his current DJ sets. The album features a number of exclusive remixes but Paul has actually re-edited most of the tracks himself, so the entire album is an ensemble of 're-crafted' works! There are also some classics thrown in, with Creamfields 'die-hards' recognising some big Oakenfold/Cream favourites such as Sneaker's 'Scatterbomb' and Auranaut's 'People Want To Be Needed'.
