THE line up for the fourth annual Celtronic dance music festival in Londonderry has been announced.

The event will see some of the world's biggest names in dance music descending on the city to perform at a range of local venues.

Kicking off in June 29, the week-long event will be the only one of its kind in Ireland this year.

Celtronic organisers and local DJs from Deep Fried Funk and Sirrocco MCs will play host to top DJs including DAVE CLARKE, Andy Weatherall, Excursions, ALAN SIMMS and Lee Combs.

Six concerts will be staged over consecutive nights at the Nerve Centre, Sandino's Bar and the Gasyard Centre during the festival.

The grand finale will see DAVE CLARKE hit the decks alongside Lee Combs at the Nerve Centre for a marathon set on Saturday July 3.

Spinning alongside them on the night will be ALAN SIMMS and Deep Fried Funk's David Campbell and Mark Jennings.

A spokesman for Celtronic said the selection of performers reflected the wide dance music spectrum appreciated locally.

He said: "The dance music scene has been on the receiving end of a lot of negative press from certain quarters for the last couple of years. However, it continues to evolve and go from strength to strength with new acts breaking through all the time and producing some of the most innovative music around."

He added: "This year's line up features a selection of the biggest names in dance music alongside the best talent that our city and country has to offer.

"Derry has a rich musical history and has always embraced quality music which is why it has been possible to host a festival of this calibre here for the last three years."
