SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO ANNOUNCES "DANCESTAR GLOBAL MIX"
MIAMI, FL -- (January 29, 2004) – Sirius Satellite Radio, and Miami based DanceStar USA - The American Dance Music Awards, has created a weekly radio show inspired by the awards event. Showcasing the world's leading DJs with exclusive mix sets created for DanceStar, The ‘DanceStar Global Mix’ radio show will create a national focus for dance music on the fast growing satellite radio network. The weekly show airs at 9pm on Saturday nights EST, the venture marks DanceStar's first step into dance music radio in America.
Ben Turner, DanceStar Creative Director, states:

Geronimo, Director of Programming and Dance Music Formats at Sirius, states:

DanceStar Global Mix will debut on February 7 with American DJ, BT, followed by Holland’s SANDER KLEINENBERG on February 14, MURK (Oscar G & Ralph Falcon) on February 21 and the UK’s STEVE LAWLER on February 28. All DJs have received DanceStar USA nominations.
DanceStar USA has been created as a window to the world for American dance music DJ’s and artists. Last year’s show in March 2003, was seen by an estimated 800 million people in more than 84 countries around the world, with broadcasts on select European terrestrial channels as well as MTV Europe and Star TV Asia.
Last year’s DanceStar USA saw leading UK act DIRTY VEGAS scoop multiple awards, and a live ‘world’s first’ TV debut by PAUL OAKENFOLD performing his massive hit ‘Ready Steady Go’ featuring Shifty from Crazy Town. Hip-hop superstar P Diddy stole the show with a world premier performance of his first ever dance track ‘Lets Get Ill’ featuring Kelis, which has subsequently been reported as the most significant dance track in years.
The US broadcast, in association with Music Choice, aired in September as a one-hour television special on over 160 cable systems in 75 markets reaching over 30 million households across the country courtesy of leading US cable operators including Comcast, AOL/Time Warner, and Charter.
Ongoing DanceStar USA 2004 announcements will be made via DanceStar’s ‘Global Report’ online news bulletin and at www.dancestar.com.
