Fatboy Slim has refused to remix
Fatboy Slim has refused to mix a track for his favourite footy team, Brighton FC
Fatboy Slim has refused to mix a track for his favourite footy team Brighton FC because he thinks football anthems are cheesy. Brighton have just won promotion from the second division to the first and wanted an anthem to celebrate their success. Club chairman Dick Knight asked Fatboy to do a remix of their traditional song, Sussex By The Sea. But Fatboy said no. "Tempting as the offer was, I had to turn it down. I love music and I love my football but in my opinion the two just do not mix," said Fatboy (aka Norman Cook). "I've heard the various World Cup and Cup Final songs and I don't really like any of them. They're a bit cheesy. It's not the kind of thing I want to get involved with."Fatboy invested a six-figure sum earlier in the season for the club to pay for new players. His record label Skint also sponsors the club. "I get to as many matches as I can," said Norman. "Zoe has even been to a couple and baby Woody is a fan."Learn more about Fatboy Slim.Learn more about Skint Records.
