Also known as DJ Aerich D, Tony was raised Aerich Anthony DiAngelo in Brooklyn NY. Tony Started his DJ career the day after his first school dance at the ripe age of 13 in 1978. Once he saw the radio station DJ playing the 7 inch 45's on two turntables, Tony was hooked and knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. Being so young Tony perfected his DJ skills by throwing house parties while his parents were away. Even so, his natural talent spoke for itself and Tony was given his first professional booking at the age of 15 at the Roxy in NYC. Tony, who was a studied musician since the age of 5, picked up on the new beat mixing technology when it was first being invented in the late 70's and early 80's. His great understanding of the structure of music brought him to greatness by perfecting the musically perfect mix. His perfect pitch abilities allowed him to be the first to perfect and understand harmonic mixing long before today's technology does it for you.

In the Early 80's Tony moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he pursued his education as a music major in College. He studied many aspects of music with an emphasis on Composition, Piano Performance, Theory, and Electronic Music Synthesis. He also got involved with the college radio station which lead to a short but successful radio career for Tony. During his stint in Radio, Tony learned the most important thing in music presentation is programming. Tony often says, "The mixing and fancy turntable tricks are just the icing on the cake, without programming you don't have a cake." Tony is often referred to, even today, as the programming guru. Unlike reading a crowd, Tony's programming skills help him predict what the crowd will do even before the doors open to the venue. Tony's residencies and guest appearances are far too extensive to list on this bio. Tony has Dj'd for every club and production company in every city he has lived in.

Having just returned to Denver, Colorado after a 6 year absence, It didn't take Tony long to establish a new residency at Bar Standard part of the the SOCO club empire. Celebrating his unprecedented 30th year as a DJ this year, Tony still remains the most humble, non-arrogant DJ on the planet. He is always willing to help young DJ's willing to take his advise. Often referred to as the Grandfather of the Denver Scene, in 1989 and 1990 Tony was responsible for successfully bringing the house music movement to Denver which was a city still reveling in the new wave, gothic, and industrial music. Not only did he bring House to Denver, but he brought it to a club known for it's alternative, industrial and gothic programming named Rock Island where Tony held a 4 year residency. Tony knew that the club was dying, something had to be done and convinced the owners to give him Sunday Nights where there was an average crowd of 50 people to give him the opportunity to introduce house to the Denver underground Scene. He told the owners that not only would the night be successful but it would be the largest night the club had seen since the opening of their doors in 1986. Tony delivered his plan with utmost perfection and within 4 months the 50 person night grew to a 2500 person night in a club with a capacity of 786. Any old school DJ from Denver would tell you, if Tony hadn't done what he did when he did it, the Techno and Rave scene would have never happened when it did in Denver. He was the true pioneer of the scene here in Denver and paved the way for many current promoters and young DJ's who DJ because of listening to Tony play 15 years ago and will tell you of his accomplishments.

Tony played with 808 State in their first appearance in Denver. He also played with Moby in 1992 in his First Denver appearance. Tony has rubbed shoulders with the best and has his influences admittedly including the likes of John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Seb Fontaine, and Dave Seamen to name a few.

Tony's 30 year career expands so many different genres of music. He started in the disco era and moved into the New Wave scene, and brought Industrial to Denver then brought it back out into house and introduced techno before leaving his Sunday Nights at Rock Island. Not only an accomplished DJ, but he is also a Composer, Producer, Musician, and Music Historian. His knowledge of music minus his knowledge of DJing is fascinating on its own. To hear Tony play live is like hearing a story. Tony doesn't just play music, he tells you a story with it. He definitely brings you on a musical journey that few DJ's are able to do. He is the worlds best kept secret. So humble and always happy, Tony seems to be content where he is. Where he should be is a whole different story. Tony is a world class DJ hidden from the world.

Tony has never wanted to be known as any specific type of DJ. In a single night he goes all over the board and plays a sound for the night rather than a type of music. His stories are unmatchable and very sought after week after week. Tony is a true Artist, a true Pioneer, and definitely has plans brewing in his head for the next wave of production.
