Studying telecommunications in 2003, DJ TF1, aka Jon Wayman, began his interest in music production and engineering. Through the influence of another disc jockey, TF1 started dabbling in computer-aided DJ software. It wasn't until later that year that TF1 purchased his first equipment - dual CDI 500's and a mixer - that he realized DJing couldn't just be a hobby. DJing became his new passion: spreading unheard and emotionally moving music to the ears and minds of listeners. TF1 started his passion in Bloomington, IN by playing out at house parties and small campus events.

In the spring of 2005 TF1 made a reality of another dream: he released his first dance single, 'Soleil Undercovered'. By composing and producing his first dance single, TF1 researched and came to understand the rules and form of dance music. This single was made public via internet in May of 2005 and is available for listening on TF1's website.

Over the winter and spring of 2005, after practicing for nearly two years, TF1 mixed online for friends and fellow listeners. This tool gave TF1 the experience of playing duration and requesting throw downs for club play.
