SILENT ASSASSIN

From day one Thomas was a lover of music. Everything from Rick James to Santana, Culture Club to Iron Maiden could be heard around the house in his family. The first record he owned, complete with a breakdance moves pullout, was given to him while only in kindergarten. As he grew up sports took over Thomas' interest... Music always played an important role though. Whether it was during a long bus ride or stormy night in Kansas, music always made him feel better. After moving to AZ in the summer of 99, Thomas started attending electronic dance music events and/or raves. By the summer of 2000, the temptation to learn how to "spin" records was unbearable. He started out wanting to collect and spin jungle and drum & bass.

The transition from hip hop to this new raw sound was made possible by DJ Lion and Tc Izlam. Soon after Thomas was introduced to a sound that had peaked a few years earlier, Speed Garage. Due to the difficulty of finding this sound he was quickly picked up by the new 2step movement. However, breaks would ultimately be his weapon of choice. Thus DJ Silent Assassin was born. The first gig for this one time bedroom dj was not unlike many. Small venue, poor sound, and he even got bumped after half an hour, so a dj who missed there slot could play. All this is part of paying dues, which is why Thomas is still with it.

With bookingsranging from El Paso, TX to Denver, Co, the drive and hunger for more is continually pushing this up-n-coming dj to further his skills in front and behind the decks. As one of The Institute of Bass and Breaks newest instructors, Silent Assassin, brings more flavor and diversity to an already respected family. Keep your eyes open and your ears peeled.
