Striving for a career in music since the age of 10, Shane Rempel has always had a passion for all kinds of music.

It started with a guitar given to him by his parents. Shane played the guitar off and on for the next ten years, with a stint as lead vocalist/guitarist in a local punk band.

Shane always had an appreciation for music regardless of genre. With the '93 release of Wu Tang's 36 Chambers album Shane started leaning more towards urban sounds. This is when he developed his love for Hip Hop.

Jump forward to 2004 we find Shane frequenting local Hip Hop and House club nights. This is when he formed an appreciation for DJing and Turntablism. After much thought he decided to pick up a couple of 1200's, a mixer and some records. Shane started out dabbling with Hip Hop and later met House dj Damian Definite from Toronto, who showed Shane they ways of long smooth mixing. From there Shane met Tyler(Obscene) a Drum n Bass DJ from Phoenix, AZ. Initially Shane didn't really vibe on the DnB, until one day Tyler put a DnB record on and Shane stepped up and mixed an accapella from one of his Hip Hop records over the DnB beat and BAM!

Shane then realized that he had a knack for mixing Drum n Bass, and he could incorporate his love for Hip Hop with a 'slight form of electronic music' and take it to the next level...

Nothing but up from there, Shane & Tyler started playing DnB/Hip Hop sets together at a local DJ competition. After winning 5 weeks in a row, they were granted a residency at Sals, home of the longest running Drum n Bass night in Calgary.

Since being invited to play at the 3 year anniversary of Rudebwoy Rondezvou SickSense has been booked steadily for local weeklies and radio shows...

Shane has released 2 mix cds; The Next Level and Mental Fitness which have had huge response in the local scene, and has recently hooked up with local DJ Bigworm and Intercept Management and currently has his own weekly radio show through Intercept.
