SHY BROTHERS
Real-life siblings, Mike and Benjamin Shir, are the duo behind the Shy Brothers. That part of their name rings true? However the music they make is far from timid. Confident, aggressive and in-your-face, they have shaken up the sleepy Canadian club scene. Born and raised in Germany, with a Persian background and now have set up camp in Canada. Their thrilling fusion of uplifting trance, dirty electro and raw tech has meant in less then two years they have grown to become the number one DJ team in their home country and the foundations are set for world domination in 2007. The busy boys run their own label, Solid Records, alongside Solid Entertainment, and are behind some of the biggest and most extravagant indoor dance festivals in North America. These include Dooms Night, International Music Festival, Fusion Dreams and Insomnia, regularly rocking crowds of up to 7,000 at these epic, mind-blowing, laser drenched events. As a DJ duo they have played alongside some of the biggest DJs in hard edged dance including Mauro Picotto, Marco V, Eddie Halliwell, Anne Savage, Blank & Jones, Scot Project and many, many more. From their Solid Record studios the duo work their magic, writing, producing and mastering all their tracks and remixes themselves. Gathering momentum with each release they are becoming recognized as one of the most exciting talents in tech-trance, with critically acclaimed and top-selling tracks such as My Mind, Good Morning and Electrified. Their last release, Midnight FUNK!! was supported the world over with plays on Radio 1, Kiss FM and di.fm. They have attracted some of the top talents in trance to remix their tracks including Dumonde, Marcos, Igor S and DJ Choose, giving further evidence to their unique musical talents and studio chemistry. Turning their hand to remixing their takes on Igor S, Stop DJ and DJ Res, 2Hostess have been supported by top DJs and sent further ripples throughout the trance scene. This is only the beginning. Their next two releases are set to be huge. First up is Human Design with a massive remix from hard dance legend Scot Project in March. This is followed by the storming Feeling Like that features a makeover from trance men-of-the-moment Stoneface & Terminal. With a single release set for every two months that will include yet more high profile remixes plus a world tour in the coming year, soon the whole of clubland will know the name Shy Brothers!
