SECOND NATURE

Robert Nathan Mohammed, born 21st July, 1983 in the city of Saint Joseph, Trinidad & Tobago. Attended High school & college from 1995-2002 then University of West Indies from 2002-2005. Majored in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. During this compulsory period of secondary & tertiary studies his elder brother (Neil Joel Mohammed) took every chance of Robert's spare time to educate him musically. Whether it be learning manuscripts or music history Robert was kept thoroughly occupied with music all round.

Confronting his passionate love for music whilst determined to broaden his career, Robert started small scale production of remixes where he targeted the 18-25 age market with his radically styled remix ideas. It was no surprise that this musical talent of his became what people would call a "Second Nature" to him. This musical talent first surfaced thanks to his elder brother Neil Joel Mohammed as mentioned in the last paragraph, who happened to be an aspiring musician himself. At the tender age of 5 years old, Robert played his first instrument, a box guitar. By 9 years of age he found more enjoyment with a Yamaha keyboard controller rather than the 6-string box guitar. From that day onwards Robert managed to juggle school & play proportionately. Throughout his early teen years Robert familiarized himself with as many music genres of the world as possible, noting every instrument, it's tone, timing & chord structure. Formulating his own twists of arrangements that came in handy throughout his production career.

Eager to get his music heard by the masses of people within Trinidad & the Caribbean, Robert distributed his music to Radio stations & Disc Jockeys, especially in live parties & concerts. His growing love for the kinetic energy possessed by music led him to an ongoing journey that started in early summer 2000.

DJ Second Nature started his career as a disc jockey at age 16, spinning all styles of music from reggae to soca (Caribbean genres) to house & trance. With one main mission to promote his remixes, there's no one better to introduce such mixes to a mass of partygoers than the producer himself. For the next 4 years "Second Nature" have been spinning in clubs throughout Trinidad & the Caribbean. Some of those clubs include "The Anchorage", "Club Amazon", "RaceRock", "Pier 1", "Club Matrix", "Beer Gardens" & "Club Oxygen". During 2005, Robert started a different type of production. One that every producer have engaged in at one point or another, Radio Jingle Production. Whilst spinning in clubs at night, "Second Nature" was burning the candle at both ends producing Ads for parties, businesses & promotions during the day. He once quoted "As long as there's a beat involved, I'm there!" This feat lasted till the beginning of 2006 where it landed him a job at one of Trinidad's top radio stations, Hott 93.5FM. Since then to present "Second Nature" have been based at Hott 93 on Saturday mornings, "Club Senses" & "Club Zen" on Friday & Saturday nights & his very own studio on weekdays.

Spinning music with an added twist is Second Nature's specialty. As every Disc Jockey selects the right tempo of music to set the pace of the party, he beatmatches his own unique, transitional remixes from one genre to another flowing seamlessly, taking parties to a next level. Robert Nathan Mohammed, dreams that one day, every creed & race will all get along in harmony to one beat, one rhythm, one song, one message & create world peace 8 bars at a time! If it's history in the making, all Disc Jockey's shall unite as one.

"The world runs on music, whether it be a heartbeat or the natural sound of rainfall, we all depend on it to keep us moving", Robert Nathan Mohammed (DJ Second Nature)
