Scott Danesi (aka DJ Scoto) has been producing various genres of electronic music since 1996. He started under the name MATRIX along with Steve Fox. Steve and Scott released their first self titled album in 1998 which sold locally for the next 6 months. Soon after the release of the album there was an unexpected need for them to change the name of their group. Scott then changed the name to OPTIX. This is when OPTIXmusic Productions was created. Scott then began to produce a solo album titled, The Orbit. It was then released in 1999 under OPTIXmusic Productions. Under OPTIXmusic Productions, Scott began to throw house parties in Carbondale in the year 2000 and made appearances as DJ Scoto at other locations. He then began producing again with Katy Rushin and Wade Van Ommering in 2001 under the name OPTIX. They soon released their first album together called FUSION. This album was sold locally in Carbondale, IL for the next year. Scott then started working by himself again in 2003 and started producing harder tracks that he was able to play at the house parties and events that he was spinning at. It was then in 2004 when he got hooked up with Toy Maker Productions out of Champaign, IL.
After a bunch of work and anticipation Scott has released his first vinyl with various hard techno tracks on it. SC7-001 (Catalog number of the vinyl), released March 15th 2005, has 5 tracks including his Teenage Wasteland Remix, Communication Terminated, Wrong Direction, Sex Drive, and a super secret hidden track. You really can't have a hidden track on a vinyl, but he likes it there.
Starting in early 2005, Scott discovered the art of circuit bending. If you don't know what that is, it is when a toy is modified by connecting switches and resisters to the circuit board which cause it to short out and make very abstract noises. He is currently using a circuit bent Speak and Read, some cheap walmart piano, and the infamous Nintendo Entertainment System. A few months after he created these freakish toys, he released his first track with a cameo from each of them. The track is a remix of "Tom Sawyer" by Rush which is available in the downloads section of his website.
