Rob Pan, better known by his aliases as Saphyre or Emerald Fusion, grew up near Chicago listening to early house & dance music, and his love for electronic only grew from there.

After moving to Northern California later in his life, he was introduced to the rave scene through his older brother. Going to his first rave party in 2003, Saphyre was strongly influenced by all the different styles of electronic music and knew this was his calling.

After the next few years of attending underground raves in the San Francisco area, Saphyre was disapointed by the lack of Trance and the stereotypes surrounding the genre. In order to battle the stereotype that Trance is just this boring cheese music, Saphyre took up DJ'ing in order to show that true trance isn't just thought of in terms of black & white.

Constantly criticized by the other DJs in the area who said trance was dead, Saphyre was only pushed further to learn the importance of not just beatmatching, but also making the music flow smoothly from track to track to tell a story without words.

In February 06', Saphyre got his first gig at a small party in Oakland and proved everyone wrong. Even though the party was primarialy Gabber and Drum & Bass DJs, Saphyre amazed the crowd with his unique Trance sound and ablility to adapt to ANY crowd's taste perfectly, and play exactly what the audience has been begging for all night long.

Shortly thereafter, Saphyre was asked to DJ on the Main Stage of the Sacramento music festival alongside Pop-Dance acts DHT, Ian Van Dahl, and Cascada. Saphyre continued to spread the Trance sound all throughout California and has had the privledge to open for Mike Koglin, Deep Voices, Solarstone, Elsa Hill, Airbase, and many more to come!

Rob Saphyre now resides near Los Angeles, California.

Saphyre plays a wide variety of trance sounds, ranging from start-of-the-night Progressive, Electro, and Minimalistic Trance, to energetic peak-hour Epic & Melodic tunes that will get stuck in your head. Saphyre also lays down hard bass-infused Techtrance and those funky rolling basslines of Psytrance. If the mood strikes and things get intense, Saphyre may even lay down a gabber track or two!
