Romell got his start in radio and production around 1986 when he met up with his close friend/brother DJ. Lloyd Dev at Percy L. Jullian High school. Brother Lloyd introduced Romell to a radio station known as Chicago's Power House WKKC 89.3 FM. From there a his first mix tape was submitted to Program Director Mr. James Kelly. From 1986-1989 Romell was a one of the star members of the young people's radio network. He graduated and became a host/mixer of WKKC's Friday Night Audio. Romell also filled in on Pink House's popular Hip-Hop show Rap house, Bobby Que Bobby's Sunday House Show and many other shows on WKKC. From 1992-1998 Romell went on to host his own show called the Saturday Dance Diversion on St. Xavier University's Radio Station WXAV 88.3 in Chicago. It was later named 'The Show'.
