Robert Groove has been elevating the mood of his audiences with the smooth sound of all things house for over 10 years. Being exposed to a musical background from a very young age, Robert couldn't help but develop a passion for music and movement making a very natural transition into the DJ culture.

Making his debut as a hip-hop DJ in the mid 80's in Toronto, Robert and his partner at the time branched out in the late 1980's to create Bonus Beat Productions, a little production company known for throwing big parties in the beaches of Toronto. Robert's desire to pursue other interests and opportunities for travel and DJing in other parts of the country eventually led him to the West coast, settling him in the city of Victoria. The move proved very influential for Robert's career as he found himself holding down a long running residency in one of the city's top clubs, Rumors, under the tutelage of Brent Carmichael.

Robert has had the chance to play along side some the worlds best talent, such as J-Dub, Mark Farina, Andy Caldwell, DJ Michelle, Justin Long, M3, Kaskade and the Femme Djs, Jhonny Fiasco, JoJo Flores, Iz & Diz and JT Donaldson

Robert's style has steadily evolved to incorporate his love of upbeat bumpy 4x4, tribal beats and sultry vocals.

From there it was only a matter of time before he met his current DJ partners Trevor Galore , and the up and coming Velvet kiss and thus the GrooveKitchen was born.

Robert's plans for the near future include the continued development of his own studio recordings, to be released under his brainchild, NaughtyGroove Recordings, a company designed to sign and promote home-grown Canadian talent.
