PJ was born in the island nation of Sri Lanka, in the Indian sub-continent. However, most of his early years of life were spent living in South Africa, before eventually settling in Australia in the late 80s. He is also the founder and brain-child behind ILR. After spending the best part of 3 to 4 years dj'ing and producing in his bedroom studio, in January 2004 he embarked on a new record label model. Amidst the growing trend towards digital music distribution - ILR was born, a digital-ONLY Techno & House music record label and arguably also one of the world's first of its type. With just a few releases under its belt and despite criticism and hostility from established players in the industry as well as vinyl purists, the label continues to grow from strength to strength with a growing army of supporters. In July 2005 PJ went on to develop 2 new projects. Firstly, the Infamous Record Pool - an innovative concept that enabled independent labels to get valuable and affordable real-time feedback on their latest releases through digital music promotion. This service has since gone on to receive full support from some of the world's top labels and djs. And secondly, the Infamous Podcasts - a series of dj sets that utilizes the latest trend of online blogging and podcasting.

Furthermore, after his critically-acclaimed debut international solo release on his own imprint, PJ's profile on the world stage has risen from virtual obscurity to being regarded as one of the industry's new breed of innovators. And with many already predicting the demise of vinyl as the medium of choice for djs, his digital-ONLY approach is now being adopted by a modern generation of underground stars as well as many of the scenes long-standing heavyweights. Requests for PJ's diverse journey-man styled dj sets are coming from across the globe, from radio hosts and promoters alike, and in some eyes he is one of a handful of individuals in the electronic movement that are truly spearheading a revolution in dj culture.
