Pete Eardley is one of the small band of DJs trying to keep the underground sounds alive as a viable alternative to all the cheesy pop music that is currently packing people into local clubs under the guise of 'dance' or 'house' music.

Not exactly a spring chicken (34 years young), he has been playing at local bars, clubs and parties for some years. His style has developed and changed over the years. From playing the funkier side of house and vocal house he now plays somewhat dirty but funky sets of acid tinged breaks, electro funk and 'anything with a sleazy groove'.

Underground and slightly different beats fill his box and he is always trying to slip a slightly different sound into the mix to expose people to different angles and forms of the music he loves play and loves to hear.

Passion for the music is at the heart of his craft. DJ'ing for fame or fortune is not. If people want to come and listen and dance then he is happy. There is no ego here - just a man in love with his music and eager to share it with anyone who wants to listen.

He is currently persisting with a monthly night at a local intimate club. Building on an attentive set of regulars who love the music he plays. Sometimes its startlingly different and, slighly scary! Others it's good, and well known tracks that people cannot help but dance too. 50 people or 500, everyone is dancing at the end of the night and no-one wants to leave.

His current sets showcase breaks old and new, some forms or experimental electronica and, to keep everyone happy, familiar yet good dance floor tunes.

The other string to his bow are his rare but busy Classic House and Old Skool nights. This is the time when he re-lives his early days on the sometimes illegal dance floors or Northern England. Each event has sold out and everyone wants more. His love of these older tunes - the roots of many of todays productions hold a love that cannot be described by him - unless his wife asks.

Always eager to play and please, Pete is the type of DJ that there should be more of. For him it's just about the music - nothing else.
