PAUL

Stealthily and as time went by, Pablo De Mattei grew up in the scene of Buenos Aires following his influences in terms of Jazz and Soul to access, from there, his special interest in electronic music. His devotion for new sounds relates him to House since 1988, when he made it to his first residency at one of them pubs which filled the Bollini alley. Since then, he began transiting the local circuit that during the following five years would lead him to hobnob with the top DJs of the moment.

In 1999 Paul arrived at the decks of the now disappeared underground club Morocco and, simultaneously, he began working at the high-quality night Clubland(Saturdays@Pacha Buenos Aires). On a Deep, Tribal-House key, he there shared the booth with heralds of the international outlook of the size of Clive Henry (Peace Division), Layo Bushwacka!, Nick Warren, Dave Reaman, John Graham and Sander Kleinenberg among others. Furthermore, the acceptance and flair of his sets -which transport the dance-floor through dark and intense paths- led him to be a feature in all the editionsof the Creamfields BA festival.

On the alert for the new moves of his mentors -the acclaimed John Digweed and Jimmy van M; Hernan Cattaneo and Carlos Alfonsin, on a more approximate level- Paul began exploring the production field in the beginning of 2003. Working alongside the musician Mercurio, he made his own tracks and a bootleg of the song Ultraviolet by U2 which went around the world in the trays of the busiest DJs. In fact, he was part, with Buey and Federico Stuart, of the group BPS. Many remixes came out of this creative society which reached the audience through Metrodance, the local electronic music number one shot. Moreover, the version of Clocks by Coldplay arose the interest of Paul Oakenfold in the trio.

Currently, Paul combines his newly found production career -he works individually on a remix of the duet Big Head, for Sinister records- with his Djing one, with his appearances at Clubland and as a member of the staff of Metrodance 95.1 FM.
