In the course of his 12-year stint as a DJ, MOGUAI has earned international recognition among clubbers and DJ colleagues alike.
His innovative sets can be described as a mixture of tech-house and progressive trance although every performance is unique. That's why MOGUAI is able to get the crowds going in clubs like Tribehouse/Neuss, Space/Ibiza, Oxa/Zurich, Mach1/Nuremberg, Gatecrasher/Eden-Ibiza, Tower/Johannesburg as well as at major raves such as Time Warp, Mayday, Nature One, Energy Street Parade, Love Parade, etc.
On the strength of this, Germany's biggest radio station (1Live) have given the "Ruhrgebieter" his own radio show which regularly (once a month to be more exact) pulls two million listeners for a 4-hour live set. His first EP back in 1993 (Moguai Best before End / Important Rec.), sold more than 6,000 vinyls. The first video of the second release (Magoo Project Low-go), was produced by the X-MIX video artists and was all over the music channels MTV and VIVA.
A common musical belief brought Moguai and Phil Fuldner together in 1995. Success was just around the corner. By 1998, they had made their way into the TOP 10 with "The Final/Capture Future Theme", ( # 7) and have been an established producer team ever since.
Further successful productions of his own soon followed (for Ministry of Sound - Kosmo - Eastwest - Positiva - Additive - Virgin, amongst others) establishing MOGUAI's international reputation as a producer.
His "Dial M for Moguai" productions (e.g. Beatbox) raided the sales charts (Top 40) even though it was a straight ahead club track ("... it is important to me that the tracks rock the club...") or went on to become club classics (e.g. King of Rock, Bang the Drum, Into Another/Talla calls Moguai). MOGUAI tracks can also be found on major compilations in the UK (Clubbers' Guide to Ibiza, Headliners, World's most famous DJs, The Annual).
Remix requests unsurprisingly have been rolling in. Artists such as Timo Maas (Orinoko, Island), Luzon (Yoshi-Toshie), X-Press2, 2raumwohnung, Fischerspooner, Cosmic Baby, BBE, Yves Deruyter, Giorgio Moroder and Santos have all been quick to see and hear the Moguai trademark sound and ask him to mix their stuff. Pete Tong (Radio One) chose MOGUAI's remix of the track "Island" by Timo Maas as "Essential Tune of the Month", whilst in Germany the club hit "Lost Witness - Seven Colours" (Ministry of Sound) was only released with MOGUAI's remixes.
The latest part of the puzzle is the label: PUNX, a plaftorm for innovative club tracks, unlimited by any particular category of electronic music. The first release "Moguai presents Punx" sold out its initial run of 2000 vinyls within a week and had already been licensed on to the major label Eastwest Records by that point.
