Mike first got the taste for DJ'ing back in the early 90's, after helping out at a friend's night at Bar Cuba in London's South Kensington. He was asked back there many times before becoming the clubs weekly resident for 2 ½ years.

During that time he was also visiting some of London's more underground and innovative nights such as Heart & Soul and Wiggle where the London 'Tech-house' sound was born. It was here that he was influenced by the music being played by DJ's such as Eddie Richards, Mr C and Terry Francis.

Mike teamed up with a group of friends from Strange Weather Studio's and together they began doing the second room at Wiggle, playing a mixture of music right across the board including ambient soundscapes, dub, techno, house and just about everything else in between. He would DJ for the whole night while the guys from the studio would jam over the music using a whole collection of keyboards and effects. These 'Strangerooms' soon became a popular feature at Wiggle and the chilled eclectic vibe was a refreshing change to the thumping grooves coming from the main room.

Having earned his underground spurs in the second room, Mike soon progressed to the main room and began playing at numerous parties and clubs in and around London including: Wiggle, Love Truth & Integrity, Kerfuffle, Swag, Fu DJ, The Gathering, Original Sin, Positive Sound System, Force 10, Pressure Point, The End, The Zap, The Concord, Rebound, A Way Of Life, Technology and many others. Playing his mixture of funky, deep, trippy, groovy, house and tech-house. Lots of big bass lines, crisp clean sounds, snappy percussion and emotive strings and pads with plenty of weirdness.

In June 1996 Mike started 'Surreal Recordings' with Paul Culver (Swag Records) which provided an outlet for music made by himself and friends which deserved to be heard. Surreal was slow in developing but is now firmly established as one of London's key 'Tech-House' labels and over the years has played a small part in shaping the sound as it is known today. Mike has recently been producing under the name of 'The Mingers' with Timmy S and has so far completed three releases for the label and done remixes for Fred Nasen's Visitor label (Belgium). After a quiet year in 2003, 2004 will see Surreal moving to Unique Distribution. The label will be re-launched with a series of ep's highlighting the best of the back catalogue interspersed with new productions from The Mingers and Timmy S.

In 1998 Mike began his second long term residency at the Optical nights he hosted every two weeks in Brighton which went on for three years before coming to a close. During that time he played alongside some of the worlds finest underground DJ's including: Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, Nathan Coles, Mr C, Dave Angel, Dave Mothersole, Kenny Hawkes, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Chris Duckenfield, Colin Dale, Asad Rizvi & Richard Grey to name a few.

Mike worked at Eukatech from July 2000 to July 2003 and was responsible for the day to day running of the store and was the main buyer. Specializing in Tech-House, House & Techno, Mike worked alongside Marco Lenzi and together supplied London's underground with the vinyl it craved. He has also formed an integral part of the Eukatech DJ's playing at parties in clubs like The End, AKA, Ultimate Base and Renaissance.

During the last 5 years Mike has been taking his sound further afield and has played across Europe in the Czech Republic, Belgium, Macedonia, Kosovo, and further afield still in Israel and Brasil where in 2001 he was voted the best International DJ by Rraurl (the country's biggest Electronic Music web site) and after numerous short visits over the last few years he is now living in Brasil and working with the Hypno Agency and playing all over Latin America.
