Mike Apotheosis (aka Michael D'R.)

In 15 years as a professional DJ, Mike Apotheosis (pronounced Ah-poe-thee-us) has maintained an endurance and versatility in music that is rare in its intensity and speaks well of his chameleonic ability to change his style with the evolution of time and popular taste. As a native New Yorker, he was drawn to a career behind the turntables at the age of 16, taken under the wing of a veteran DJ who tutored him in the art of spinning and reading a crowd. As the years passed, he honed his style of music, developing a signature style he calls 5HTP! which encompasses the *House, *Tribal and *Progressive elements, as exemplified in his demos; Buffet and Drums! (Tribal & Steel).

2001 saw Mike elevating his profile with guest spots at various New York City venues including Saci, Ohm, China Club, Room 143, and Exit Nightclub - Manhattan's largest nightspot. All this in addition to frequent lounge spots at Liquids, Leopard/Sin Sin, Sessa, 40 West Eighth and a residency at GrooveJet opening for celebrated DJ Eddie Baez.

He has had the honor of performing for world famous artist Peter Maxx, Emmy award-winning producer Tom Guttmann, and the casts of ABC's Loving, The Maury Povich Show and WPLJ 95.5 FM radio. He was also instrumental behind the turntables DJ-ing for a pair of television pilots: DJ Chef (Drake Media) and Club Jam TV (Pro Image/Fox).

His production company, MDR Studios, mastered the interview disc for Toni Braxton's multi-platinum selling The Heat and released its first original production, a remix of former Expose singer Gioia Bruno's debut single, Free to Be, in late 2001.

2002 brought with it additional remixes for up-and-coming talent Billi Crayone and a sophomore effort with Gioia remixing her second release From The Inside. Before the year was out, Mike had joined internet radio station Metro Mix Radio as their original resident DJ and production partner. Presently, Mike is producing The Revolution, a ground breaking DJ/producer interview program airing on MetroMixRadio.com and on the Canadian airwaves via Club246 Radio Network. Media attention from Billboard, Next, Disco-ID and other magazines has already been garnered.

His years of experience and ability to create DJ spin sets appealing to a wide variety of audiences makes Mike Apotheosis a turntable talent to be on the lookout for though to completely understand the man behind the music, you need to experience his unique blend of beats for yourself. People come up to me all the time, he says. But to me, the best compliments come from those who say, "I don't know what your style is exactly, but I love it!"
