MAUD DEEP
Based out of Seattle, dj Muad'deep has been laying down grooves for over a decade, and creating his own since 2001. While attending Indiana University he started out playing Hip Hop and 70's Funk, then attended his first Rave party in 1995. He quickly learned that electronic music was in his soul. By 1997 he was booked at his first Rave 'Get Busy' under his then DJ name D-phine. He Continued to build his reputation as a talented House and Breaks DJ, when in 1998 contracted Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer. While battling Cancer he was able to hone his Scratching and Mixing skills. He continued to play Raves and local clubs in Indianapolis, IN until 2003 when his Cancer returned. This time he spent months in the hospital and taught himself music production using the latest software. In 2004 he moved to Seattle, WA and dedicated his life to producing music for social change. In the wake of 9/11 he changed his name to Muad'deep (Moo-Ahh-Deep), and decided to incorporate the traditional sounds of cultures from around the world into his music to promote global tolerance and understanding and to preserve cultural identities. His unique original tracks, blending the tribal sounds of Central and South Asia with the funky sounds of West Coast House, have found their way into the record cases of such internationally renowned DJ's as PALASH from Washington D.C., DJ r-H from Singapore, DJ Asif of Fusing Naked Beats from London, DJ Iside from Dubai, U.A.E. and DJ Cheb i Sabbah from San Fransisco, CA.
