DJ Marcelo Mejia is Architect of profession, artist for passion and a Discjockey for vocation.

His first influences came from experimental electronic Spanish rhythms during the late 90s. Groups like Teen Marcianas, An der Beat, Ant Sue, Protozoo, Pez, Frogmen and Coldcut were his influences at this time in which he had the pleasure of attending Sonar and Benicassim Festivals. By the other hand he had been a Caribbean tropical music collector for about 10 years and so he used this skills and knowledge for developing a taste in fusion electronic music.

His labor on decks started in 1998. By this time he was mixing rhythms and labels rarely used in the Colombian electronic scene, dominated at that time by techno music. His set at that time was mostly formed by experimental house music and trip-hop, always taking to the limit the double power which encloses this genre: the dance floor characteristics as well as the harmonic qualities. Even though in his discotheque has always been a room for good Techno music, is in House music where he has always been more comfortable.

His set includes different streams of House music during one presentation. It fluctuates, with the only intention of taking people through a journey, in between easy listening rhythms such as Vocal House, going through transcendent and elaborated Deep and Progressive House, and reaching more euphoric and happy rhythms such as Tribal and Tech House.

DJ Marcelo Mejia has been playing since year 2000 in different Raves and Discotheques of the growing Colombian electronic scene. He has played in Tantra, Gotica, Barbarella, Le Funk, El edificio, Pipeline and Cha-Cha. He was the invited DJ for the AXE Party in Cartagena de Indias, and for the chill-out room in the Umek y Valentino Kanzyani presentation in Bogota. He has been resident DJ in Las Virgenes, Cinema and Lavanderia Continental. He has presented in different discotheques around the country like Egypcia in Cartagena and Living Room in Bucaramanga. He has played beside the most important national DJ S such as DJ Fist, Hector Carrero, Alexa, Mao Molano and GerarDJ among others. He had also played with international DJ S such as Dave Armstrong, DJ Joeski and Felipe Volumen.

Actually DJ Marcelo Mejia belongs to the DJ set of Estacion Ibiza from Vibra Bogota 104.9. He assists regularly to play two hours set in this one the most listened electronic radio program in the city.
