"Live your dreams" says Luis "2-Live" Lopez. Born and raised in the windy city, Lopez is no stranger to the world of entertainment. Whether it was performing skits in the basement for all his friends or imitating the radio disc jockeys, Lopez was always fascinated with the thought of being an entertainer. As a child, he was introduced to a variety of musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar, and piccolo. That's what sparked his interest in music.

In the early 80's, during the "breakdancing" craze, Luis had his fair share of alley battles, but after getting the opportunity to play with a set of Technics 1200s at the age of 13, there was no turning back. Luis was introduced to a whole new level of performer, The DJ. It combined the two things he loved most, music and performing. Inspired by House pioneers, such as the HOT MIX 5 and Bad Boy Bill, Luis perfected his skills. 2-Live hit the scene, with turntable trickery, scratchin and his unique blend of house, freestyle and hip hop. His sets electrified crowds all across the city through the late 80's and into the 90's.

Luis landed his first guest-mix radio spot on college radio station 88.1fm WCRX (Columbia College). He eventually enrolled at the school and joined the station. It is there that he had the privilege of hosting the longest running mix show in Chicago, "The Masters in the Mix". It aired Fridays from 7-12. Always trying to break new ground, 2-Live developed the "Underground Cafe" a weekly segment dedicated to the underground scene in the 90's. It featured live mixing, interviews, local/national guest DJS and the latest house music.

After graduating, Luis pursued a career in radio, finally landing a spot on the air at Top 40/ 92KISSFM doing weekends, later moving up to nights. After format changes, 2-Live found himself, living in a dream, hosting weeknights from 7pm -Midnight on Chicago's Only "DANCE HIT" Station, ENERGY 92.7&5. Although Energy was short lived, Lopez' dedication to "dance" is Eternal! 2-Live continues to spin his web of house music on the Chicagoland area. Be sure to get caught up in it!
