LOIC HERVOT
It's all about the Music! At young ages Loic was always surrounded by music that his dad would play on old records, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells and many more. Loic was introduced in the electronic scene in 2004 when a friend of his gave him several Djsets; back then Loic started to feel a bit curious about the electronic sounds, but it wasn't until October of 2004 when DJ James Holden performed in local club Vertigo in San Jose Costa Rica that lightning stroke, until then Loic hadn't fully appreciated the power that music had over people and feelings, after this day everything changed. You would see Loic listening to electronic music 24/7. He then met local DJ Esteban Howell, who taught the basics of mixing to Loic, everyone then realised that the skills of mixing and creating new sounds were within Loic all along, they created a beautiful strong friendship, sharing similar taste in music, and started working on a project called 'BOH', which the idea behind it was to give something 'different' to the Costa Rican crowd. The project ended with a compiled CD that up to date people cherish as one of the best projects done in Costa Rica. Frequently described as an 'indigo child' Loic has always tried to do things differently, always looking for good vibes in his crowd, the tracks that he normally plays in his set are mind benders. There is nothing but unexpected sounds and reactions when Loic is set on the decks. Loic has traveled around the world looking for inspiration in his music, and it was in 2005 - 2006 when he spent most of his days in Ireland that he found his favourite style of music, the glitchy sounds of minimal techno. He worked in collaboration with Irish DJs in music production; additionally he has been working in his own original tracks that will be available soon. Most of his work has been inspired by his favourite artists such as James Holden, Richie Hawtin, Andy Page, Dominik Eulberg and and LOD. Loic's project 'Bored o House - 2005' and his Latest mix 'Mind Warp - 2006' both played at the radio, with enormous acceptance from listeners around the world who can't get enough of those logic sounds!
