KATSCAN

For the past six years DJ Katscan has been performing his unique style to dance floors across the Midwest. He has been a musician for the past 15 years, trying out every instrument from drums to keyboards, but learned that his preference is turntables & samplers. He strives to connect with his fans through a style of music that is all his own. His mind-bending psycho-trance-funk-jungle is both captivating and innovative, spinning off into new directions for each crowd that he plays for. But it doesn't stop there, Katscan's versatility, and record collection is no joke! It ranges from Trance to Tech-House to Drum N' Bass to Hip Hop. Whatever it takes to keep the vibe flowin!

And the vibe never stops when Katscan duo's with Singer,Writer & DJ HyperGirl to bring out the best in any crowd. CD coming Soon!!

He has played at private Parties, Music Festivals, Raves and Clubs all over the Midwest for such clubs as Excape, the Living Room (St. Louis, MO), and Velocity (New Orleans). While spinning at Excape, he was featured on WGN's House Party USA.

Katscan was influenced at an early age by several genres of music. He toured cross-country with the Grateful Dead for almost six years. He then found a family in the underground scene of St. Louis, his hometown. In 1994 Katscan, the SP Crew and "Here and There Productions" threw a party in Washington, MO. This was Katscan's first attempt at uniting his early influences of music with the electronic music he had come to love. This led to a second party called "Virtual Freedom" two months later. Then in 1999, Katscan and Kandeeland Productions put on "Better Than Chocolate" in St. Louis, MO. All were successful. Also in '99 a funky, futuristic band named Vitamen A came into his life; he began a side project with the keyboardist & lead guitarist / lead vocalist. They called themselves "Digglers Lounge". Their funky acid jazz sounds quickly grew a following.

He released his 2nd demo CD simply titled "Live From the Broadway Attic-2001" where private parties went off every weekend. This demo is full of Trance crazed house mixes & insane Drum N' Bass mixes. A couple of the tracks are Katscan's creations. Now, having played around South Florida and back to St. Louis he is currently working with Urban Collective, The Sandman Prod., DJ Plasma@ Deadbeat Records,Becka & Languid, Digglers lounge, Mike C., Tony V., Josh K., James Hill, Jason and Krew, DJ Dickie Down and the hip-hop Krew's influence. A new CD should be out soon 2005!!!
