Born in south London, raised and residing in north London... Karl SlimBlue has been influenced by underground dance music from a very early age and always felt more of a connection to the darker, moodier styles out there.

Being a teenager in the early 90?s KSB was predominantly into Hip-Hop, H&G and hardcore, listening to the sounds of Cypress Hill, N.W.A., The Prodigy and DJs Slipmatt, Westwood and EZ to name a few... By 95 KSB was 15 and amazed by the tracks coming out on the Jungle scene. With tunes like Burial, Pulp Fiction and the still bangin’ Helicopter alongside pirate radio stations like Kool fm, Dream fm and RadioActive KSB was grabbed by Jungle sound.

It was late 96 when a slightly underage Karl SlimBlue started ravin religiously at Club Labyrinth in Dalston (later moved to Tottenham) also going to raves like Slammin Vinyl and United Dance, this is when KSB realized he wanted to be a DJ. So after a lot of saving KSB eventually got a pair of decks and practiced his skills all day every day.

By 98 KSB had fallen head first into the darkest sounds available. Influenced by the Moving Shadow record label along side the likes of Dillinja, Doc Scott and Ed Rush, people who weren’t into D’n;B thought he was crazy... How can u call that music!?!?!? ...During the summer of 98 KSB was lucky enough to catch Grooverider @ Ministry of Sound in Ibiza. It was a performance that blew KSB out of his socks and made him want to be a DJ even more.

Having made numerous guest appearances on a variety of pirate and internet stations based around London together with years of training playing the house party circuit, small bar and private hire events Karl SlimBlue still has as much love for the scene today as he did all them years ago...

He’s always open to offers of DJ sets, Radio/Internet shows, Music Consultancy or anything else relating to underground dance music...
