Javier Portilla is part of the new generation of Costa Rican Djs. Has played in the main clubs and parties of Costa Rica. He started studying arts and music at the young age of 8 years in the Conservatorio de Castella, a Costa Rican prestigious academic institution who has graduated some of the best Costa Rican exponents in music, theater and dance.

Started his career as Dj at 19, a year later he moved to Madrid, Spain and then to London, UK, where he improved his technique due to the huge influence of this European capitals. He came back to Costa Rica in 2001.

Until now, he has performed in almost all of the main electronic venues and events in Costa Rica, such as GrooveRepublika, Caf 83, Khanda, Boogie, Luna Roja, Bajarse al Moro, Qbico, El Yos, Nova Lounge, Club 360 and in the must important venue in Costa Rica Club Vertigo, Javier has played a few times in Proton Radio.com, also had the opportunity to play his music with greats djs as Benny Benassi and DJ Gadjo in the Ministry of Sound Party.

His must direct influences are Hernan Cattaneo, Meat Katie, James Lavelle, Sasha, Mashtronic, Lee Burridge, James Holden, among other djs and producers, his performances are inspired in this electronic music icons, which is reflected in the intensity and variety of his mix.
