James-K is the founder of Reject Industries and the Gratis DJs. With eight years in the industry behind him his tastes have covered a few styles... Having started out playing Funk, early Electro, Breaks and Drum & Bass, then Progressive and what is now recognized as early Tech House he now has his feet pretty firmly planted in the Deep House corner; although that encompasses a lot of music. It's never a surprise to hear Click House, Techno, Disco Funk, Hip-House, Electro, UK and US West Coast House in the same hour. James-K's sets are chunky chugging affairs; always with an underlying sense of suspense at what is coming next.

His main influences are Nottingham's legendary DiY Soundsystem, Sheffield's Smokescreen outfit as well as Frenchman Cyril-K and Rob Mello.

Since 1999 Reject Industries has been going from strength to strength as a collective adding Cape Towns Deep House dons Rob White and Platform A&R - Ryan Dent to the other eight international Dj's already on the books. With some added breathing space James has been able to concentrate on production and Dj'ing. Gigs in Mexico City and Lisbon in 2004, as well as the Reject night 'Housing Benefits' in Manchester, with guests, Nick Slut, Mark Turner and DiY's Digs & Woosh and Simon DK have helped to cement James' position internationally.

This year Reject Industries International franchises open in Spain in collaboration with Alicante's Sol Tribal Soundsystem and DJ KEBRA, and the record label kicks off in Mexico at the end of the summer with Eduardo Rossell at the helm.
