JACE2

DJ Jace has been in the Electronic Dance Music scene since 1991 and it shows, his fluid and energetic dj sets are known around the US and are not to be missed.

Jace started djing raves in Lexington, Ky. and surrounding areas in 1991 as DJ Jigsaw and quickly became known for his fierce dj sets. Spinning any place he was able to get on the bill, he quickly became known as a staple in any second room of almost every party he frequented. He made the transition to house in the summer of 1993 and quickly gained notoriety for his soulful and energetic grooves. Soon after he gained a residency at the Virtual Gallery, a local Lexington club with an eclectic mixture of art and dance.

In the summer of 1994 Jace helped his roommate, and local promoter, J2 throw one of the landmark events in the East US rave scene, Interstellar Outback. This party went down in history as one of the best free events organized in the Eastern US, and still to this day hold fond memories in the minds of those that had the pleasure of being there. It was at Interstellar Outback that Jace was given the opportunity of djing at the Drop Bass Sound System. This set put Jace on the map and quickly gained the attention of Anode Productions out of Nashville, who quickly decided they needed to have Jace dj at their upcoming events

Jace's first party in Nashville however was not an Anode event, it was a small party called Cloud 9, this was the night Jace fell in love with Nashville. He quickly became a staple in the Nashville rave scene, traveling there at least 1-2 times a month just to visit. After visiting Nashville numerous times Jace was given the opportunity of djing at a local Nashville rave club called the Vortex. After the Vortex gig, Jace decided he needed to move to Nashville, which he did.

After moving to Nashville, Jace became one of the staple dj's in the Nashville rave/club scene. Djing at numerous parties like Sunday Groove, Release, Scrambles Eggs and King For A Day. He also filled the clubs when he wants on the decks at such places as Music City Mix Factory, The Vortex and The Underground. After djing at the Music City Mix Factory he quickly gained notice of the head dj Rich Huber and was hired on for his first residency.

As things were taking off on a Nashville level, thing quickly took off on a national level too. Jace had the opportunity to dj all over the United States, from Los Angeles to Chicago, and from St. Louis to New York City.

After 5 years djing all over the US and living in Nashville for about the same time, Jace decided it was time to head home back to Lexington and see what could happen there.

Jace quickly gained a job at a local reggae club called Dreadlocks, which started as a standby dj job while he waited for something else local, but ended up something totally different. The reggae scene wasn't as large in Lexington as the club owner thought it would be and the owner was ready to shut the club down. Jace had the idea of taking the existing club and just turning into a dance club, which the owner was willing to try. Sure enough, within 1 month Jace had turned that club into one of the hot spots in Lexington, packing the club out every weekend.

After working at Dreadlocks for over 1-2 years, Jace heard about another local club called The Attic opening up that was more his style, underground dance. He decided to head on over and see what it was about. Upon arriving he found an excellent club that was exactly where he needed to be, but they had no clue about anything, they thought if they just threw cd's in the cd players and let them play it would be all right! Jace quickly convinced the owners to let him up in the booth, and the rest is history. The owners quickly gave Jace the job as Resident DJ, in the first month the club grew 5x in attendance. The Attic closed it doors after approx 1.5 years of being open, but still is known as the high light of the Lexington club scene.

Jace decided it was time for a break, so his girlfriend Sam and he decided to pack it up and head out to LA for a year or two. This was down time for Jace, he just needed a complete break from the rave/club scene.

In 2002, after approx 2 years on hiatus Jace decided it was time to leave Los Angeles and find someplace that had the feel of LA without the hectic ways and terrible traffic, which is when they decided to move to Atlanta.

Jace was quickly welcomed into the Atlanta dance scene, and quickly has grown to be known as one of the forefront djs in the breaks scene. Spinning at such clubs as The Mark he gets the dancefloor groovin with his fat bass lines and funky beats.

He started OneGlobalGroove.com radio, a weekly online radio network, in winter of 2004, and his show Broken, has become a highly anticipated bi-monthly breaks radio show.

Jace is now focusing on producing his own music while maintaining his current djing schedule, showing that he is full time in this scene and isn't going anywhere.
