Born in Lima (Peru), Polar lives in Mexico DF, after an 11 year stay in Bogota, Colombia. He started his musical activities 20 years ago as a jazz musician, playing guitar at the most important clubs and festivals nationwide. Around the early nineties he developed an interest in electronic music as a composer and performer. That was his shortcut to the DJ arena. Polar has played at the hottest clubs in Bogota, Caracas and Lima. In 2001, he became resident at La Sala, the top house club in Colombia, where he played every Friday night for three years. He was also resident at Santa La Diabla, Caracas, and a frequent guest at La Mecca and Nuvo, in Lima, Peru. Now he plays monthly at the main house venues of Mexico City under the management of Noiselab Bookings.

Polar has shared turntables with Erick Morillo, Jerry Bonham, Oliver Klein, Christopher Lawrence, Humate, Parks and Wilson. He opened for Nick Warren at his most recent Mexico City performance.

In 2002 he started Pantamuzik, his own label. He released a double mixed CD (Delahouse Vol.1 y 2) including Latin American-only house tracks. His style is mostly deep, techy house on its darker side, with a love for percussive hypnotic sounds. His style includes shades of electro and what they call "tribal", even though Polar insists he doesn't come actually from any tribe.

Since 2001, he teams up once in a while with Carlos Ramirez under La Comision Pambele name. In 2004 Pantamuzik will release his new experimental electronica album under the Dios y Patria moniker, along with Mexican musician Rodrigo Huerta.
