DJ Glitch ... At the young age of 8, he began classical piano lessons, and continued them for many years. As his talents developed, he became more interested in music. By high school, he had joined the jazz band and taught himself to play the drums. Once he developed a true passion for music, he decided to further his knowledge through college. He enrolled in University of Central Florida, where he studied music composition, music history, music theory and MIDI classes ... Being drawn to the early electronic bands of the 80 s, he quickly became enamored with the style. Through the years he has become one of the most sought after musicians/producers for collaborations in the Central Florida area .He created a dance/industrial band with keyboards, samples, and guitar. And thus the GLITCH band name was born ... Finally, his love of dance music took over his life, and once he put his hands on his first turntable, there was no turning back ...GLITCH took to the turntables as if they were an extension of himself. He quickly created one set after another, while expanding his record collection all the while. By now, Rick has had 29 years to collect a vast array of music. Rick has grown to more than listen and manipulate music, he appreciates it. He has collected more music than he has room for.. Glitch has become friends with a number of artists and over time has gotten his hands on a good number of rarities, unreleased tracks & bootlegs ... So definitely keep checking the track listings to see the 'goodies' ....Rick’s choice in music ranges from industrial, to hip hop, and of course, the best breaks you can find. His most influential in the dance genre include BT, Hybrid, Delerium, Way Out West, Sasha, Jamie Myerson, Deepsky, Enigma, and Hi Fi Bugs. He enjoys laid back, chill hip hop from groups such as Brooks Buford, and Rehab, Pharcyde, Tre Hardson, Beastie Boys, and Spaceboy Boogie X from Japan. Before exploring dance music and turntables, he was an avid listener to such bands as Faith No More, Ministry, Pigface, Thomas Dolby, Doubting Thomas, Information Society and Mr. Bungle... And all time favorite band, since his childhood, has been Skinny Puppy, and he still listen religiously. Dj Glitch has since upgraded to cd turntables, and finds them even easier than traditional turntables. He copies all of his music onto cd, so that he can create ANY genre set he so desires, He is rumored to be working on a hip hop set, but is mostly having fun with his music for now. He is anxious to become a new favorite Dj, and encourages all his listeners to be patient, there will be more!! In the musical landscape of today where “copy what works” seems to be the agenda, Glitchs style stands out as both original and unique. Glitch is currently working on new sets, which promise to be his most ambitious projects yet ....In addition to his performing and mixing, he is slated to produce lyricist Noveds debut l.p. in early 2006.
