Rockin the Northwest for the past 9 years, Flipsta has become well known for his unique style of funky beats and turntablism. A fan of many styles of dance music, John has developed a hybrid sound of breaks and techno/house that is truly his own. He has always challenged musical boundaries and defied such simple classification as a "breaks dj," or "house dj." You simply know that whenever he shows up, he will "flip his styles," and keep the dancefloor beggin for more.

He has an impressive resume at 24, being charged with getting the dancefloor raging for world renowed arists like Carl Cox, Josh Wink, Donald Glaude, Terry Mullan, DRC, Keoki, Dutch, and Simply Jeff, as well as headlining numerous events throughout Oregon.

He has held residencies with some of Oregon's top production companies; Vujade (1997-99), Greenhouse Productions (1998-2003) and Kinetic Events (1999-2003). In 2005 he gained resident status on Saturday Nights at the Greek in Portland.

In 2001 John started his own label, Serial Sickness music; and released three CD's of original material produced by select NW artists including Flipsta, DRJ, Suff-x, Beatpusher and Maximus.
