In 97, like so many other djs, Filthy Didrik started his career in his bedroom. Inspired by UK hard house scene heroes like Tony de Vit, Ian M and Jon the Dentist harder and faster was his way forwards. After playing hard house for several years he picked up techno as a secondary genre just after the millennium. Around the same time he started playing at local clubs and making a small name for himself.

In 2003 he moved to Trondheim, Norway where he hosted his own radio show called Filthy Didrik, every Saturday night. By now techno had become his number one genre. From there on Filthy Didrik has kept himself busy. He formed a dj duo along with muTe called Retronutz. Mr Filth has also started producing his own material and obtained three residencies at clubs SoWhat, Cafe del Bar and Studio12.

Retronutz is all about playing hard house with that classic old skool sound, he claims. People tend to enjoy this it appears, as Retronutz has won the crowd favorite award at one of Norway's largest clubbing events, Club Empire. Still, his ambitions as a dj are modest, "There are quite a few djs on the scene today that posess some serious talent and to be honest I don't even want to be compared to them, they'd make me look an ass. I know I'm never going to influence a huge number of people as a dj due to my geographical handicap, but I try to make those who come and see me play remember my name. That's my goal." he says.

As his style in production developed and improved, some international djs have been known to play his material, often distributed under the alias Outpace. Several labels have shown their interest but there is yet to get a proper Outpace release.
