DJ Evolved. Not so much a name as a statement. A description of the music's origin. This music started with a punk rock edge, rounded out with jazz and hip hop groove, and then evolved from the DJ culture. The final product is...DJ Evolved.

"How Sweet It Is!" Was the rave that tore him away from two bands and converted him into a full on vinylphile. He promptly sold his motorcycle, got two Techniques 1200M3D turntables and never looked back. That was in 2000, and his path has lead him to play everything from shows hosted by Ron Jeremy and Playboy Playmate of the Year 2004 LaTasha Marzolla, to doing fundraisers for the Cistic Fibrosis Foundation.

Born as Winston Widdes on August 30th 1979, in Tarzana California, he was raised in Van Nuys until the eighth grade when his family moved down to San Diego. By that time he had just recently begun playing the Alto Saxophone and Piano which helped him discover his talent and passion for music. In 2003 he graduated with a B.A. in Music from the University of California, Berkeley. Not only did he hone his skills as a musician (he plays Alto Sax, Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Piano) but he also got to work up his turntable skills in front of dorm-loads of drunken college students. He quickly assumed his role as resident DJ of the Oscar Wilde Co-Op House, and frequently spun parties (pajama parties, Halloween parties, Disco parties, and yes, the all-mighty back-to-back STRIPPER Parties!) for them and their sister Co-op houses. And believe it or not, he still managed to graduate with honors. All of these experiences have taught him how to read a crowd to get them drinking and dancing and have helped him sharpen his skills as a performer. He has held residencies at Deco's, the Red Circle Lounge, the Rhythm Lounge, Seven-17, and , and has opened for such DJ greats as Thee-O, DJ Micro, Scott and Robbie Hardkiss, Beej, Steve Loria and others. DJ Evolved has performed at Club Montage, The House of Blues in San Diego and Las Vegas, Galileo 101, The Rhythm Lounge, Kadan's, The Honey Bee Hive... He spins wide varieties of House Music and incorporates live instruments and vocals onto performances.
