Nathan (elektrinate) Schmidt

Born in Albuquerque and grew up in Vermont.

Nathan always had a huge passion for music, graphic arts, and music tech. Always wearing headphones everywhere listening to artists like NIN, Marilyn Manson, the prodigy, frontline assembly, filter, kmfdm, and crystal method at the time.

Always searching for a better more interesting world he found all of it through the industrial and electronica of that time period "I never felt like I was ever in the right places, so i needed to escape when I heard drum n bass, trance, techno, house, and breaks for the first time I couldn’t and still cant get enough".

Playing drums at 12 and then when he was 17 discovered electronic drum machines and signal processors/samplers etc since then he has strived to find the equipment to write his own tracks, but being in Vermont these things were hard to come by. So lots time was spent on the internet looking up event dates, parties, electronic music equipment and DJs.

He got his first decks when he was 18 and has been practicing since, fascinated with beat matching, mixology, synchronization, mixing and scratching. After moving back from a unsuccessful time out in Santa Fe, New Mexico he teamed up with his good friend Norman reed (dj terabit) who specializes in computer programming web development and software design, and they started work on a few mixes and songs. So far he has 8 songs fully written and produced/co-produced.

"I still have a lot more work to do and shows to book and demo's. Life has been getting at me but I’m still absolutely going to do this and won’t give up".
