DRC a.k.a. Darcey K. Kearney is a uniquely motivated and creative 29-year-old out of San Francisco. Seeing this DJ play live will change the way you hear and feel music. The energy she exchanges with her audiences is altering. DRC is with out a doubt in a league of her own. She is a truly talented performer and musical technician. Her skills have taken her Across America, in and out of Canada and Germany many times, all over East Europe and Holland. In 1998 DRC was listed as one of the top 100 DJ's in "Sweater Magazine". In 1999, DRC and a track she produced with Jondi of " Looq Records " was featured in the film " Synergy : Visions of Vibe ". " Synergy " also features the likes of " Sven Vath and Carl Cox ". And that is only the beginning. DRC's seven and a half years of djing and last four years of working in various recording studios is surfacing its rewards. Late last year DRC released her own debut record. It is called the " Soul Reflection EP ". The EP has certainly pushed the envelope for creativity in electronic dance music. It is very original and experimental work. DRC has also recently completed the Progression Tour with NYNEX of Off World Music and in July look out for the " til Dawn " Chapter One " CD.

DRC has her first remix appearing on it titled " Future 40" by DJ Demetras. She also has a new collaboration titled " The Fault¹ with her long time friend and mentor Chris Demetras of DSP and Latitude Records in San Francisco. It received outstanding reviews at the listening workshop during the WMC in Miami this spring. "The Fault " has since been picked up by F-111 records and should be out sometime this summer. Currently DRC is working on a new D+B remix of " Stick to the Music Thing" by DJ Demetras and has plans to work with Jondi again in August, then in September some of her work can be heard on a promo CD coming out with Spin Magazine. DRC also hopes to have another Twin Soul Release by the end of 2000.

If that isn¹t enough, besides her grooling tour schedule you can find DRC spinning regularly on Groovetech.com in San Francisco and occasionally in Seattle. DRC's musical style and technique is not easily categorized. She creates a journey all her own using the mixer and records like real instruments. She edits and remixes the tracks live and combines the elements of Techno, Trance, Tech Step, D+B, Progressive House all in one set. For her, programming and timing is everything. DRC is a natural with unlimited energy when she performs. "I get board and impatient quickly, therefore I am always moving and changing musically and creatively when mixing. I like to keep the energy on the dance floor tight and impetus. I have had a yearning to create music, perform and travel since childhood. I couldn't (and still can't) stand the radio growing up because I wasn't able to cut out the commercials and songs (and parts of songs) that I didn't want to hear. It has always been that way for me."

The next step in having creative control will come when I am more independent with my studio engineering skills. Then perhaps my soul will be more satisfied." DRC's first musical and spiritual callings were awakened by the perpetual drumming and chanting at the annual "POW WOWS" near where she was raised in Northern Idaho. From then on DRC knew her life would evolve around music. From elementary school on up she enjoyed choir and later, four years of private vocal lessons. This led DRC to performing and singing in high school plays as well as the local theater. After high school she moved to San Francisco where she sang with a local Cabaret act. Here she was introduced to the club scene and she eventually left the group to begin djing a year later.

Currently she is warming up her voice again in her production although her main focus right now is on learning studio production and engineering. Among that busy schedule Darcey Kearney (DRC) and her partner, Darcie Norby (multimedia artist) have joined there talents to form "Twin Soul Productions". Be sure to tap into their website occasionally to keep up on these two as they grow artistically. DRC is one of America's most inspiring and talented DJ's. Her success can surely be attributed to her unique talent, dedication and passion for music as well as her undying modevation. She is a true artist in the field. DRC is not one to be missed.
