DAVIZM
Davizm started learning how to read and play music on the guitar at the age of 10. Not being very happy on the guitar after 2 years, he was encouraged by his music instructor to pursue a different avenue and introduced him to the world of percussion. Falling in love with the drums his Dad bought his first drum set for him, being a former drummer himself. Growing up he was involved with Jr. High / High school marching and concert jazz bands to learn theory and principle and various rock bands to throw all that in the wind and go wild. After many years of unspeakable events and crazy fun his drums were stolen and his love for music, stolen with it. Years after that he was introduced to a friends friend who happened to be a DJ in the club circuit. The energy, music style and dance scene of the historical West End of Dallas at the time was all it took to bring a rocker to the electronic age. More time passed and the absence of a musical outlet got more than irritating. Living in Houston at the time he decided to go the route of the DJ in June of 2000 and bought his first set up. Industry Sounds, on Westhiemer at the time, became his favorite place to duck into, shop and hang out. After they moved to Rusk St. and opened the Caf, he decided to cut his public teeth at their open deck sessions where a ton of great DJs and people were met. Davizm has been in the local Houston music scene since and got his first residency in 2004 at a posh downtown nightclub named Opus for over a year. He has spun at various clubs and events since and is currently the headlining resident of LEVITY. He incorporates various music styles such as: Progressive, Tribal, Electro, Breaks and 80s remixes to keep the crowd entertained. His sound is influenced by his past in percussion and he loves to drop the drums.
