DAVID HOPPER

David Hopper is a pioneering DJ and artist who has established a reputation for serving up a potent blend of house and techno for over fourteen years. Besides maintaining a full DJing schedule at clubs, raves, special events, webcasts and radio stations, he regularly appears as a guest music reviewer for electronic music culture magazines. Hopper has been producing original electronic music for the past ten years as a solo artist and signed his first recording deal with Blacc Label Records in 1998. In 2000 he set up an independent record label with some associates called Overeasy Records and began collaborating with long time friend and fellow DJ/producer Dave Panek under the "D&D Project" moniker. Gaining immediate success with their first release, entitled the "Sunday EP" and their second release "The Drums EP," both on Overeasy, the D&D Project has gone on to produce over forty five mind-blowing tracks. In 2002, Hopper began showing his true versatility by producing what has been described as funky, chunky, jazzy house under the alias "Catfish Boogie Nelson." Hopper also began producing gritty techno that was instantly picked-up and placed on heavy rotation with Planet Dance and The Vortex on the Sirius Satellite Radio network and also featured on the Discovery Channel. His original track 'Bones' earned him a top 100 track of 2003 on both Sirius Satellite and Grooveradio. Furthermore, in 2003, Hopper received an honorable mention in BPM Magazine's "Who is America's Favorite DJ?" and spent the month of August '03 on tour in Europe with MTV and was the featured DJ on MTV's "The Grind". Moving forward, in 2004 he began to branch out and started producing original tracks with other artists under different alias's. Small projects like "Hollywood Highrollers" and "Brothers of Soul" were born out of these collaborations. In the Spring of 2004 he was delighted to be given his own radio show called "Revolutions" on 87.9 FM Streets Radio out of Los Angeles while still devoting much of his time in the studio. Much of 2005 and 2006 was spent with fellow producer Jonathan King setting up a new label called Bounce Royal and starting a new live band called Soul Provider along with a new production duo called Metro Local. Presently Hopper is keeping himself busy doing film scores and getting original music played on "The Oprah Winfrey Show", "Larry King Live", "Access Hollywood" and many more television and cable shows. Always on the cutting edge, Hopper has spun alongside many of electronic music's greatest artists, such as Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method, Christopher Lawrence, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Rap, George Acosta, Judge Jules, Robbie Rivera, and Frankie Bones just to name a few.
