Dave Skinz has been rocking the Joburg scene since his early beginnings at infamous clubs like the Workshop and DJ's Music Cafe in Rivonia back in 1997. His Djing has taken him through some prestigious residencies at legendary venues like Stonewater and Hideout and have led to his current residency at the one of the stalwart's of the SA Scene, ESP. Dave Skinz has also had the pleasure of performing at some of SA's major events the likes of Splash, Woodstock, Rustlers, and the Love Parade in Cape Town. He has played alongside some of the leading names in the funky and electro house scenes such as Steve Angello, Dave Armstrong, and Sharam Jey.

Dave is heavily involved in the running of one of South Africa's major record store's and is a co-owner and manager at Technics DJ Mix Club, which has branches in Blairgowrie in Johannesburg, Berea in East London and Morningside in Durban. He is responsible not only for the ordering of the music and stock for these stores, but also for keeping in contact with all the punters and players involved in the SA Dance Music Scene through DJ Mix Club.

In addition Dave Skinz also writes reviews and articles for Music Maker magazine in which he get to play around with, and review all the latest gear coming in from the major manufacturers in the world DJ Scene.

Overall Dave Skinz is a technically brilliant DJ who lives his passion and has an irrepressible love for music that is clearly visible every time he plays. He is a talented DJ and producer who plays and writes various styles of music but finds his passion lies in the funky, electro and progressive house arenas. Dave firmly believes that ability to mix is beyond just putting two records together, but is the ability to seamlessly blend many different pieces of music across different medias formats like CD players, Samplers, Effects Units and Turntables, into a very personal multi-layered concerto of music that not just moves your body but rocks your mind and soul as well.

This unique combination of talent translates into a fresh positive sound that has a universal appeal and leaves its mark wherever it's heard.
