Known from the infamous Penthouse Parties in the Chicago neighborhood of Humboldt Park, Dan Miller, a Detroit native, raised on Techno, fell in love House music during his 7 year stay in the Windy City. In early 2002, Dan felt it was time to return to his home, and quickly picked up where he left off. Dan began his DJ career upon his return to the Motor City and became immersed into the small but brilliant house scene in Detroit. Dan teamed up with Evan Rhodes (a.k.a. Dread Smooth) and together they began the successful One Love weekly at Carbon lounge. In late 2002, Dan started his own monthly PlayHouse! at Foran’s Downtown Detroit. Along with his residencies, Dan has also made Detroit appearances at 9 South, The Works, Tavern on the Park, Bleu, The Necto, Buddha Lounge to name a few.
In mid 2003, Dan joined the Souldega Music collective. Comprised of 7 premier Detroit house DJs and producers, Dan brings a whole new style to the already diverse group. He is known all over Detroit for his banging Chicago House sound, although he has become quite a versatile DJ since joining Souldega Music. Dan is able to bring the heat no matter what the style and keep the dance floor moving. If you’re in Detroit, be sure to catch Dan and the rest of the Souldega Music crew at their monthly residency at Bleu called Texture.
