Daniel Ortiz was born on January 16, 1988. He grew up always breaking toys. His parents would buy him and he would open them up, with a screw driver and eventually break them...

As he grew older he started to get into electronics. He started opening radios and tape players. He recorded his first tape with using nothing but two tape decks and various artist tapes. He made a "Chipmunk Tape", one where every song sounded as if recorded by the Chipmunks. He achieved this by slightly holding the fast forward button on one deck and recording on the other deck.

Eventually his parents bought him a computer, and his musical limits grew. He discovered P2P Programs such as Napster. He then made a "Chipmunk CD", this time not as difficult as the tape deck scheme was. He simply raised the tempo on the songs he liked using Microsoft Sound Recorder.

As he got into high school. He started to get a deep passion for Hip Hop. His surroundings in high school gave him a taste of a new style of life. He got involved in a class that taught him a lot, Electronics Technology. This class taught him many skills for electronic development and he learned the skills to create sound and lighting devices. Later he used those skills he learned, along with the software he became familiar with and used them in conjunction with the passion he had for music.

In high school he then got involved with another element of Hip Hop. The Art of Painting on or usually unauthorized writing or drawing on a public surface, Graffiti He became well known threw his high school as a big time graffiti artist. So Daniel and other artist of his high school began defacing the school, they "bombed" various sections of the school. Finally his vandal life came to an end when he got arrested by the Chicago Police Department. He no longer was able to use his great underground name, because the city had records of him and that name. So he was forced to leave that life behind him.

After high School Daniel was planning to join the United States Marine Corp, but he then got involved with club life. He became a Promoter for a company name North Star Entertainment. He would go out Thursday-Sunday, to various Chicago clubs. So he decided to postpone the military life. He some how had the name "DAN DAN THE MARINE MAN" given to him to fit him in with the rest of the members of North Star( seeing that all the members had unique nicknames). Everyone just called him "Dan Dan" for short.

After being with North Star Entertainment he had the opportunity to get hands on experience using top of the line dj equipment. So he started to really get attached to the art of blending and mixing music. He wanted to perfect his style of mixing so he bought his own equipment. He purchased a set of Pioneer CDJ-800MK2's and a Vestax PVC-180 mixer to have the tools necessary to work on his skills right at home. He then perfected his style and made his first dj appearance at a place called "Images Lounge". The name "DAN DAN" was stuck with him. Everyone in Chicago Club Life new him as that, so his dj nickname just Transitioned into "DJ DAN DAN".

Now he DJ's at Various Chicago Clubs and Lounges and continues to perfect his skills and learn new Techniques to further make his style greatly appreciated.
