CYTRIC

David Costa, Cytric, was born in Lisbon and he was soon interested in electronic music and the art of djing.

When he was only 13, just for fun, he gave his first steps in music production, creating his first own themes.

In 2002, when he was 19, he finally began his professional path, producing and remixing themes created by some of the most respected djs/producers of the world.

His productions reveal an unique style, played in many dance floors all around the world by many different respected artists, taking the crowd on a journey through the world of dark/progressive/tribal.

As a natural perfectionist, he works hard so he can improve his technique, day after day, because nothing gives him more pleasure than watching the crowd going wild with his music, through his productions but also through his DJ sets that reveal his good taste and refined musical selection.

Cytric has themes signed by the well known Iberican Recordings, Magna, Star69, Afroboogie, Ggressive, Lajja, ReadyMix, among others, proving his talent and abilities, since some of these labels are responsible for most of the latest years dance floor hits.

2005 marked a great step in his short but solid career as a producer. In that year, Cytric remixes, among others, the original 'Dance or Cry' from Peter Presta & Funky Junction, edited by MAGNA which would be included in the '5 years of Magna Recordings' compilation, belonging to the Portuguese Carlos Manaa & Paulo Rocha. One of his first originals to have a great impact was 'Let The Rhythm', a theme with the voice of Kieran, edited by the American SLANTEDBLACK, which was included in important compilations such as 'Dance Culture', from Tracy Young, 'United Sounds of Progressive', from Royalhouse Records label and 'Keepin' it Underground' from Mrio Calegari.

Cytric's name began to mean prestige and he was then invited by IBERICAN, a STEREO subsidiary, the greatest electronic music label in the world, to produce an original theme. Cytric didn't let them down and produced 'I need you', a theme that received great reviews and proved his value by entering in some of the most important compilations of the greatest djs/producers in the world dance scene such as Carl Cox and Chus & Ceballos. 'I Need You' was included in 'Back to Back' compilation, by Chus & Ceballos and 'Global' a compilation made by the legendary Carl Cox. This theme was also included in 'JustMusic 003' by TommyBoy.

For these 2 last years, his name is getting more and more well known and, naturally, he receives many invitations to produce new themes or remixing themes from famous artists, such as 'On This Dancefloor', a remix made for TASTETRAXX which entered 'House Volume 4', a compilation by KULT RECORDS and the remixing of 'Echoes from the Jungle' made for the portuguese label EMMO, an original from the respected DaGroovemakers, a tribal theme that received great reviews.

In 2007, he does a remix in the compilation 'Dj Vibe & Stephan Grondin - STEREO SOUND001', named 'Stephan Grondin - levitate me' and he remixes another theme, Focus, an original theme of D-Lav & Etiquette featuring the excellent voice of the american singer Jessylou, for the american label SLANTEDBLACK .

But Cytric's talent doesn't end in producing and he proved it when, in 2006, the American Frisky Radio, one of the greatest radios in the world, invited him to do a set, every 2 months, for them, in which he has the opportunity to show his abilities in the splate for an hour of transmission.

Craig Mitchell, the famous american house singer, invited him to another participation in his radio show 'TechnoFM'. 'Rouge Platine', another famous and respected radio, from Switzerland, invited Cytric to show his DJ potential once again. In the radio show 'Underground Sounds Radio', Cytric joins Eric Entrena, Rpo and others.

Already in 2007, he was invited to participate in 3 other radios: TribalMixes, AntiFMRadio and Proton Radio. Cytric's music goes all around the world and his fans are growing every day.

He now has the support of the most respected artists in the world, such as : Vibe, Chus &Ceballos, Victor Calderone, Superchumbo, Eric Entrena, Richie Santana, DaGroovemakers, That Kid Chris, Midnight Society Rob Mirage, Muzzaik, Cevin Fisher, Kelee, Javith & Salazar, London909, Luca Ricci, Frank Maurel, Carlos Fauvrelle, Kult of Krameria, Palash, among many others.

His path as a producer allowed him to start playing around the country and, in 2007, he had his first international experience, in the USA. He already performed in many places, such as Coconuts, in Cascais, Repvblica, in Castelo Branco, English Club, in Fundo, Imperio Romano, in Marinha Grande, Kais Club, in Vila Real de Santo Antnio, Danubio, in Paos de Ferreira, Mau Mau, in Porto, Look Club, in Viana do Castelo, Fenix Club, in Aores, ArmazmGLS, in Lisboa, &Companhia, in Covilh, Kadoc in Algarve, Nikki Beach Event in Portimo and in Vilamoura (Algarve), Social Club, in Philadelphia (USA), Satellite Records, in New York (USA), Alibi, in New York (USA), Taste Lounge, in New Jersey (USA), Rise, in Boston (USA), Terraza Nao, in Toledo (Spain) and many others.
