After a 7 year stint of tearing up the wheels of steel in Philadelphia, PA, Cozmic Cat returns to her native Canada to continue mixing and spinning the funky beats...

Cozmic Cat is that DJ - the one who's named best DJ of the year by Philadelphia Magazine one week, and seen handing out fliers on the street the next. Who's spinning at the Cirque Du Soliel premier party, then turns around and launches a free monthly at her neighborhood coffee shop.

As one of the best known DJs in the city, Coz is also the first to tell you her busy schedule of touring NYC, DC and Philly came from humble beginnings. She moved to Philly in the mid-90s with a little DJ experience under her belt, dropping soulful house, breakbeats, triphop and jazzy, bossa grooves in mid-sized lounges. After a few female DJs put her on and she felt the thrill of spinning in public, Coz was ready to try her hand at serious DJ-ing.

Easily straddling the two worlds of down tempo vibe and dance floor grooves, Cozmic Cat plays such a bouncy, smooth eclectic mix that her style remains undefined, ever changing, but definitely rooted in house, jazz and funk. This diversity has landed her gigs with such wide ranging talents as Jazzy Jeff, Dj Dan, De La Soul, Deep Dish, Bahamadia, Ursula Rucker, ?uest Love from The Roots, Skooly D, and many others. Her beats have provided the vibes for countless underground parties, swanky lounge openings, charity events and celebrity galas attended by the likes of John Waters, Justin Timberlake, P.Diddy, Mick Jagger, No Doubt, Jill Scott and Eminem to name a few.

2003 marked the year that dj Cozmic Cat co-founded her own record label, From Philly With Love, and entered the studio, emerging with three critically acclaimed singles on two compilations. Her genre expanding sounds received club and radio play worldwide and earned her and her fellow label mates a much coveted spot on URB magazine's "NEXT 100" artists list for 2004.

As Cozmic continues producing and spinning vinyl in her native country Canada, her mission remains the same: contributing to the scene by simply providing a good time, and having fun while doing it.
