Alec Chizhik was born in Moscow in 1982 and raised by a family of musicians. His mother is a piano teacher and his father a well known Russian jazz musician and professor of jazz piano in Munich and Weimar.

At the age of 5 Alec began attending schools for musically gifted children and often gave performances for classical piano. 1991 his family moved to Germany, where he continued to give solo concerts and started to participate in international competitions. Today he is studying music at the University of Munich.

Alec's first contact with electronic music came in 1994. At the time he was drawn to a popular style called "Hard-Rave/Gabber" and commercial music like Michael Jackson, but later he became more interested in minimal hip-hop producers like DJ Total Eclipse (Executioners).

At the age of 15 he started to produce his own music, combining the afore-mentioned influences to create a style characterized by tribal grooves, experimental sounds, funky bass lines, and dimensional pads with jazzy vibes.

Later he met like-minded people and began to perform live acts in clubs like Unterfahrt and Mainstreet Club, where he played keyboards supported by rhythm groups and sequencers. Meanwhile he developed an increasing interest in DJing and took gigs in clubs like Ultraschall, Kraftwerk, and festivals like Kanzleramt@Parasound.

In 2001 he met Stephan Riedel and began to collaborate with him on his Beat Generation project. Their idea was the combination of minimal electronic beats, live jazz piano, and other acoustic instruments.

Recently Alec has taken his first steps toward presenting his sound to a global audience by playing keys for Stephan Riedel & Roberto Q. Ingram's Moody Waters EP (Exun) and Stephan Riedel & Markus Mehta's Overseas EP (Circle rec.).

2004 he became member of "Circle Music" the tech-house label of Alex Flatner and is now working on some upcoming releases.
