Biography

DJ PRODUCER: CHRISS VARGAS found his love for music when he was a teenager in Colombia. He began his music career at the age of fifteen as a drummer in a Ska and Hard Core band. He played with this band in many different bars and parties throughout Colombia until he finally arrived to New York in 1999. Once in New York City Chriss Vargas was exposed to a whole new world and a whole new style of music. Clubs such as the Tunnel and Sound Factory were among the first to influence and inspire him to spin house music. Djs like Jonathan Peters, Victor Calderon, Antoine Clamaran, Deep Dish, and DT were some of the major influences in Chriss Vargas's career. These influences, along with his love for the drums, his Colombian heritage and his own personal touch have assisted him in creating his own unique style that he is know for today; Hard Tribal Progressive.

Chriss Vargas began his career in New York City in 2000 as an Afterhours DJ and attended his first Winter Music Conference in 2004. Over the past seven years he has spun in numerous clubs throughout New York, North and South Carolina and Miami. In The Carolinas he spun in Club Miami, Club Soho and Z lounge. In Miami he spun at the W.M.C. at Envy, Indra lounge, Skky Club and the Ultra Fest. Some of the major clubs he spun in New York include Avalon, Aquarius, Club Diesel, Central Fly, Club Bliss, Sound Factory, Sugar Lounge, Club Traffic, Club Level, Club Discoteque, Scoopa, Etoile, Halo, Club Sessa, Essex Lounge, Suite 16, Play Lounge, Cascada Bar, Spectrum Night Club, Nation Night Club (LI), Club Heaven, Club Shelter, Club Mission, Brazil Night Club (Hamptons), Neptunes (Hamptons), Summers (Hamptons) and White House (Hamptons), Remy Lounge, Warehouse, PACHA NYC, Gypsy Tea, Rebel night Club, Spider Room in Avalon, The loft, Tantra, Kabala, The Hot Spot and NUBAR lounge ,GROVE 49 in the village

Chriss Vargas is signed and working with two music labels; Lime records and Malpaleo music, and well as one being of the owners of Safe & Sound productions. SAFE & SOUND productions was established the summer of 2007 by Chriss Vargas and Sergio (SERIO) Gutierrez. This company works with high-tech video and sound system set-up for lounges and clubs. The Safe & Sound production team also promotes and spins in the NYC nightlife. They are currently spinning House, Tribal, Electro and Progressive.
