CHOP
Damir Chop wass born in Zagreb in 1976. When he was a teenager in ex-Yugoslavia, his preferences brought him to the sophisticated music of that time, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, and Yazoo; they are still his idols. When the 90's began and rave culture started, Chop was there as a listener, he was like a sponge. From the beginning he was interested in djing and the dj culture. He bought his first record in 1990 and continued to collect records for the next few years. After that he started to play in reputable underground clubs in Croatia, such as Mungos (Kashina),Valentino, Kulusic and many more. At the end of 90's he was the resident dj under the Tatraplan project with his very good friends Thian and Veks; at that time Tatraplan was very popular underground club night. His first bigsuccess was a party with John Acquaviva in the famous club Factory in Zagreb, where he played in front 1500 Zagreb clubbers. That party got him the Boogaloo club (ex OTV) residency, where he spun with lots of world famous djs, and he is now one of the leading Croatian dj's. In his sets he plays a combination of styles, from tech-house over techno to minimal electro-tech with lot of acid in it. He has started to do his own production and we can expect his own releases in the near future.
