Whether it's nu skool, progressive, funky or old school breaks, DJ Buddha rocks the dance floor with his unique style of mixing, blending and cutting. Buddha brings an energy and life to the scene that many DJ's have forgotten or simply do not have. He also understands what the scene is about. At one of the first-ever STORMraves in Brooklyn in 1991, Frankie Bones said, 'It's about Peace, Love, Unity and Respect.' While that concept has been passed around loosely since, DJ Buddha believes that the vibe is still present. 'The scene is not about personal fame or wealth for the DJ's and producers,' said Buddha. 'It's about a unique culture of people who are finding a common ground. The music helps to bring everyone together to celebrate life in a positive way.' Buddha spun his first gig at Club Audio in Roanoke, VA on February 22nd, 2003, just three months after stepping behind the turntables. It was a bangin' two-hour UK Hard House set. Since then, Buddha has switched primarily to breaks and spun out in Philadelphia, PA, Washington, D.C., Raleigh, NC, and throughout the state of Virginia, including his hometown of Charlottesville. Buddha credits his quick start to friends and mentors Adam X and Circuit Breaker of New York City Techno fame. Buddha's progression in the industry hasn't happened by accident. He's learned from some of the best in the business, with guidance and support from the above-mentioned techno stars, as well as some of the biggest names in the industry, including the legendary Frankie Bones (Godfather of the rave scene), and DJ's Micro, Pleasurehead, Johnny Fame, BamBam, Jackal, and Icey, just to name a few.
