Andreas Bakker was born on the 4th of July 1978. As a deejay Andreas was inspired in the late eighties by the grand mixes by Ben Liebrand, which were played on Dutch national radio. The first steps in his career were made in that time, mixing music on tape decks. Andreas bought his first 12'' in 1994 and from that day on he was hooked on dance music. First spinning old school music he started out playing groovy house tunes two years later. This developed into the progressive style he plays nowadays.

Antiphus was resident in The Rockit in Leeuwarden for two years, which was followed up by a residency at Club Vat'69, alongside Joop. Together the proved to be an amazing duo. In 2001 Joop won the ID&T Talent Award Contest and this inspired Antiphus to enter the ID&T Talent Award Contest in 2003. Antiphus made it into the finals at Mysterland and won the contest. After this Antiphus performed at the biggest parties in The Netherlands like Mysteryland, Sensation and Liberation in 2004. Also he played clubs like Hotel Arena and Club Noa and also he performed on SLAM! FM.

In 2004 Antiphus was inspired by Joop and Mark Norman to start producing his own tracks. Through this inspiration the first Antiphus record was a fact in 2005. The white label More Peace was a huge success, being played by Cor Fijneman, Above & Beyond, E-Graig, Ferry Corsten, Joop, Mark Norman and many others. 2005 was also the year Antiphus played a lot of different foreign countries like Turkey, Norway, Germany and Sweden.

2006 starts out good for Antiphus, with a lot of new releases, kicking off with the Brasilia remix of Mark Norman that will be released in March on Magik Muzik and already has big support by Tiesto.

For Antiphus 2006 will be a very exciting year!
