AJ Spider Sorbello is a Seattle, WA resident. Born November 30th 1982, in Sacramento, CA, is where AJ first discovered electronic music at 11 years old. Being a musician at age 9, AJ had already had a large appreciation for music. At birth he was deaf until he was at age 6. Only then did his parents and the Dr's find that he needed tubes in his ears. After his surgury, AJ remembers the first song he heard coming out of the hospital. Simple Minds - "Don't You Forget About Me". Since that moment he had truely loved everything there was to know about the sounds. At age 9 AJ picked up his father's guitar and began teaching himself how to play. He learned how to play other musicians music from guitar tablitures, but once he understood the guitar completely did he start writing his own music. At age 13, AJ's mother gave him disco records to play and scratch on a vintage turntable. So messing around and being able to understand the manipulation he had at his fingertips, soon he had discovered his calling. At age 14 AJ picked up cheap direct drive turntables and began learning how to mix. The first year was rough learning, but it always is. Making mix tapes after mixtapes to perfection. At age 15 he had recieved his first gig at a local house party. From there his fan base grew. Moving to Rhode Island for a year, he had to give up DJing since there weren't any clubs to DJ at in his own town. So he couldn't resist the fact that music is embedded in his life. So he wrote music again, but this time he was writing electronic music. Fooling around on hardware with friends from his high school. After that year AJ had moved to Washington state. From there he met a group of people who owned a record store in Bremerton- The produkt crew. AJ started DJing again and playing out at small events and built his fan base up again. From there, more mix cds were produce and the self promotion began from there. 1999 was the hottest year for parties in the NW. AJ, being the networker he is, was known as DJ Spider. He was recognized by a French Label known as Urban Techno. At such a young age, he would be escorted by the bouncers to DJ, and not drink with his peers for laws that apply to 21+ clubs. He continued to push his mix cds and land more gigs at raves to the point where he was DJing every weekend consistantly for several years. After a few years of playing under the alias DJ Spider, AJ wanted more than a cheesy name. He wanted to let everyone know that he is AJ and not just a DJ. So the difficulty of letting go of DJ Spider was indeed difficult for him. So he mixed his name with his old DJ name to AJ "Spider" Sorbello. Having travelled the world and viewing the crowds he had joined a production company and began organizing massive events from 2001 til 2005 with GroundZeroEvents.com 2006 til 2008 AJ has been DJing clubs all over Pioneer Square (Downtown Seattle) and throughout the west coast.
